    Mechanical Engineer - Landing Gear - California

    You will be responsible for the conceptual design and production engineering of the Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems. This includes conceptual layout, detailed design and aircraft production & in-service design and modification.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Undertake the independent development of initial and comprehensive designs for landing gear system components, covering the design aspects of oleo struts, braking systems, wheels, tires, metallic structures, locks, actuators, and mechanisms.
    • Conduct sophisticated modeling and finite element analysis at both the detailed component and assembly levels.
    • Perform trade studies and engage in research to analyze intricate engineering concepts, aiming to determine the most optimal solutions considering factors such as weight, performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
    • Collaborate within a diverse, multidisciplinary environment to address complex and open-ended challenges, emphasizing adherence to schedule and cost objectives.
    • Coordinate closely with various teams, including airframe, systems integration, modeling and simulation, aerodynamics, electrical, manufacturing, project engineering, external vendors, and other team members.

    Required Qualifications

    • A degree in engineering or a tech-related field
    • Design experience
    • Strong technical knowledge in core engineering principles, component design, stress analysis, testing, and fabrication
    • High competence in landing gear design fundamentals, system analysis, dynamics, load paths, and manufacturing
    • Ability to create parts, assemblies and drawings using 3D CAD software such as NX.
    • Proficient in creating drawings per ASM Y14.5
