    Job Overview

    Olympic Sports and Spine Residency Opportunities offers an 18-month clinical residency program accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) through the American Physical Therapy Association.


    Program Mission

    The mission of this residency program is to enhance a physical therapist's competency and patient-centered care within sports physical therapy. The program focuses on advanced clinical education, evidence-informed practice, and clinical reasoning.


    Curriculum Structure

    The curriculum is divided into professional development and professional activities. The first year emphasizes professional development in knowledge areas such as rehabilitation, acute injury management, medical considerations, injury prevention, and sports performance enhancement. Residents will participate in certified orthopaedic manual therapy courses and take the COMT exam.

    The second year focuses on professional activities, including clinical instruction, writing a case report for journal publication, and presenting to the organization.


    Schedule Expectations

    Residents work full-time as employees, performing job-related duties for 40 hours per week. They will receive 150 hours of one-to-one patient care clinical mentorship with an SCS clinician and must dedicate 10 hours weekly to academic-related curricular activities.


    Minimum Eligibility Requirements

    • Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program
    • Successful completion of FSBPT's National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
    • Licensure to practice physical therapy in Washington state
    • Active membership in the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy

    Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

    We estimate the annual salary for this position to be between $60,000 and $80,000, based on industry standards and location.
