Job summary
Nurses care for people who are sick injured convalescent or disabled. Under general supervision they deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment planning intervention implementation and evaluation in accordance with established philosophy Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes Nurses effectively Interact with patient and significant others while maintaining the standard of professional nursing ER Nurses provide care for patients from various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.Responsibilities
- Collects current symptoms as well as a detailed patient history and then consults coordinates with health-care team members to assess plan implement evaluate patient-care plans- Performs triage while considering both physical psychosocial elements
- Records patients' current vital signs
- Records all-care information concisely accurately completely in a timely manner in the appropriate format on the appropriate forms
- Provides for emotional support physical comforts safety of patients Assists with activities daily living personal-care needs Observes records reports signs symptoms responses-patient change condition reaction treatments appropiate persons Performs simple lab-tests stool-checks blood finger-stick-blood-sugars Prepares administers prescribed medications oral topical intramuscular subcutaneous intravenously Observes physical-emotional contraindications administered medications Prepares administers therapeutic-treatments prescribed-patient Provides first-aid emergency-care resuscitation-procedures cardiac-respiratory arrest assisting-disaster-measures needed Shares responsibility ensuring hospital has adequate supplies equipment safe environment maintained general-upkeep facility done continual-basis Initiates patient-education-plans as-prescribed physician Teaches patients significant-others manage their illness-injury explaining post-treatment home-care-needs diet-nutrition-exercise programs self-administration medication rehabilitation provides referrals healthcare-professionals follow-up treatment Attends least 75% department staff meetings Regular attendance required Performed duties assigned Float among clinical services qualified competent
