This position is responsible for maintaining, building, and commissioning automation cells, as well as troubleshooting issues arising with existing automation.
This individual will be heavily involved in every aspect of the automation life cycle. This individual uses established policies and procedures to complete work assignments. This individual will be assigned a process to automate and responsible for all aspects of the project.This individual will be required to work independently and will be responsible for fulfilling the task requirements in a timely manner.
This individual will adhere to safety policies, making sure that proper guarding and safety controls are being used and in working order and strictly adhering to PPE policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, build, and commission new automation cells including:
Mechanical Assembly knowledge and experience preferred
Electrical
High voltage (480 VAC)
Low Voltage (120 VAC)
Control wiring (5-24VDC)
Networking
Schematic creation and panel layout
Pneumatic Installation
Robotic installation
Servo actuator installation and commissioning
Create new PLC, HMI, and Robot programs to operate cells at expected rates and quality and facilitate ease of use for operators
Learn all aspects of the existing automated cells to be a production resource when issues occur
Touch up robot points as necessary and/or add new points to improve routines
Troubleshoot errors as they occur, using PLC software and/or schematics
Assist production with machine issues not directly related to automation as necessary
Adhere to safety policies, making sure that proper guarding and safety controls are being used and in working order
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in automation related field preferred
3-5 years in an automated manufacturing environment
3-5 years electrical experience in troubleshooting and/or installation
Robotics experience required, preferably Universal Robots, Yamaha, and Fanuc
Programming expertise, PLC, HMI, SQL database, and Robotics
Working knowledge of electrical system design and wiring techniques
Working knowledge of materials
Ability to identify problems, propose solutions
Multitasking ability
Good written and oral communication skills
Demonstrate judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers
Ability to work on projects that are complex in nature and require very close attention to detail
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and work well with others
Demonstrate knowledge of personal computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office
Project management ability
Informed and capable with the latest technology in PLC, HMI, and Safety Systems
Knowledge of risk assessment methodology
