    The GE Aerospace Engineering Team is looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers who are ready to work on the fastest growing engine in Aviation history, GE9X.

    The GE9X engine is forecasted to enter service in 2025, creating a generational opportunity to be part of a team introducing a widebody aircraft and engine system to the field.

    Within the Lifecycle Engineering team, as a Combustor Flow Path Hardware owner, you will lead the mechanical design efforts in preparation for entry into service.


    At this key pre-EIS (Entry into Service) phase of the GE9X program, it is critical that the team is well prepared to identify and execute solutions for potential durability shortfalls before EIS.


    In this role, you will take charge to recognize and complete validation activities, own repair substantiation efforts, support airplane certification, and identifying/designing long term design changes.


    It is with your efforts that the GE9X program will be well positioned for a predictable and reliable EIS and is well equipped to address any issues that do arise during operation.


    A job at this level you will work closely with cross functional partners to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise to make technically sound decisions with some level of evidence.

    You will act in the capacity of an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills, execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

    Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of the

    using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
    In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
    Prepare and present technical data to

    customers.
    Provide technical leadership and engineering support to team supporting the design.
    Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and

    procedures.
    Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/ strategy.
    Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
    Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
    Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
    Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the

    business.

    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
    At least 5 years of experience in an engineering position

    Desired Characteristics
    Extensive experience in the design, testing, and certification of turbine blades
    Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.
    Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
    Outstanding mentoring skills and a strong desire to help others

    succeed.
