In this role you will work with the procurement, production, quality and sales teams to schedule customer orders, purchase materials to complete customer orders per schedule, and work to meet changing delivery requirements.

    Qualified candidates will possess the following:

    2+ years in a material resource planning role

    2+ years experience in PTO - purchase to order role

    Ability to multi-task

    Blueprint, assembly print reading skills a plus

    Understanding of manufacturing workflow

    Strong planning and organizational skills

    Possess the ability to read and interpret bills of materials

    Type a minimum of 40-50 wpm with a high level of accuracy

    Have working knowledge of Windows 2000 or Windows NT system, Excel, Word

    Display excellent written and oral communication skills

    SAP or other ERP system experience a plus

    SUMMARY

    Conduct and coordinate activities necessary to independently make decisions regarding the inventory, production schedule, and procurement activities of the company.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

    Production and Inventory responsibilities.

    Coordinates all activities related to the procurement of a commodity beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.

    Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.

    Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.

    Enters material master information into SAP to maintain appropriate inventory levels at the most economical level.

    Enters purchase orders, acknowledgments, shipping notices, and other related information into the system.

    Supports purchasing with material information regarding stocking levels and requirement dates.

    Creates, maintains, and releases accurate production orders on a timely basis.

    Analyzes production requests and requirements to determine necessary steps to eliminate stock-outs and allow production to ship on time.

    Provide a method of measuring and maintaining routing accuracy and establishing standards.

    Is prepared to participate and lead production meetings.

    Understand, recognize, report, correct information in Routings, Inventory functions, purchased costs, delivery and product quality, and performance records.

    Expedites and reschedules production orders to meet the needs of the business.

    Motivated to make improvements in the processes related to managing production, inventory, and procurement.

    Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.

    Approves quantity and pricing for payment of invoices utilizing standard department operating procedures.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Responsible for checking the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing offices' input to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
