    Responsibilities:

    Position Summary:


    This position will work with the Director of the Cancer Center and other Departments such as the Dignity Health Medical Foundation and St.

    Josephs Womens Imaging Center to provide general program oversight, affect program development and program integration to ensure the achievement of program quality and clinical objectives.

    The Cancer Nurse Navigator will have oversight for the outpatient breast cancer programs.

    This position will assist directly with aspect of early identification for breast cancer screening, coordination of service, follow-up, case management and education.

    Provides, coordinates and directs care to individuals and families in a patient centered approach.

    Assesses patients risk for developing breast cancer, needs for screening and reducing barriers to care through coordination of support services.

    Documents patient history, family history, care given and compliance with applicable regulations. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods; synthesize, coordinate and analyze data.

    Perform simple and repetitive tasks; maintain a work pace appropriate to given workload; perform complex and varied tasks relate to people beyond giving and receiving instructions., understand and remember detailed instructions, make independent decisions or exercise judgement based on appropriate information ; accept and carry out responsibilities for direction, control and planning.


    Qualifications:
    Minimum

    BSN or currently enrolled in program.
    Current CA RN

    license.

    Current BLS certification.
    Evidence of knowledge of nursing theory, principles and procedures. Demonstrates skills, good judgement and
    good decision making in applying these principles in the clinical setting.

    Preferred

    One year of Oncology or Surgical experience.

    MSN or actively enrolled in MSN program. Master's degree is preferred.
