Description: The Maintenance and Repair Manager oversees the M&R department which includes maintenance, billing, purchases, costs, production, useful life of equipment, and capital replacement. The M&R Manager works closely with other operations and bargaining unit personnel to meet critical equipment/production needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day maintenance and repair functions of equipment for scheduled vessel movement
• Prepare, analyze and review annual maintenance budgets and monitor costs
• Perform regular equipment inspections and audits to ensure compliance
• Review vendor contracts and negotiate parts pricing
• Negotiate labor contracts with maintenance contractors and oversee the performance of M & R contractors
• Establish equipment replacement program
• Solicit bids on equipment replacement and direct the sale of obsolete and surplus equipment
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations as it pertains to M & R
• Review and implement alternative fuel vehicles to address environmental concerns
• Coordinate with IT to establish an M & R system and associated programs to track and detail maintenance history
• Coordinate rental and lease of equipment to various terminal operations
• Keep abreast of equipment changes within the industry
• Perform other related duties as assigned by executive management

Qualifications:

• Must have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 6 + years maintenance and repair experience in marine operations
• Must have 5 years' experience in a supervisory role with strong leadership skills
• Must have exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work and interact with all levels of employees
• Must have strong verbal and and written communication skills with exceptional technical skills
