Senior Software Developer - Los Angeles, United States - Buck Mason

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description

Are you bored of hacking on a SaaS app who's subscribers set-it-and-forget-it 90% of the time? Are you pushing out new features and no one notices? Are there bugs that've been festering for months and no one cares? Would you rather be shipping code that lives or dies by the hands of world-wide ecom customers and your company-wide team members seconds after deploying?

Buck Mason is looking for a Senior Web Engineer to completely reshape the ecom paradigm with us. Our proprietary platform offers incredible online and offline cohesiveness - you will improve architecture, performance and anything else you can think of to enhance the experience of our customers and employees while reporting directly to the CTO.

There's a certain level of adrenaline and excitement in ecom/physical logistics apps that doesn't exist for the typical SaaS. Your code will have tweet-happy customers and laser-focused internal users crawling all over it the moment it ships. This job is not for the faint of heart.

    What you'll be doing:

Work side by side with the CTO/architect who also founded and built , used daily by hundreds of thousands of developers

    * Fast, no-BS iteration: two person team yields extremely low friction between conceptualizing and shipping

    * Have huge, immediate impact on other team members' daily workflows and job efficiencies by collectively devising and developing solutions to their business-critical problems without being hindered by old bad-habits from legacy apps

    * Become a top-to-bottom expert in a growth industry beyond tech: apparel production and retail ops; your code will touch every aspect of the business

    * Only use premium devops tools and services: Heroku / CircleCI / Coveralls

Hack on a platform that has minimal reliance on 3rd party apps; we house all of our customer/order/inventory data so never need to wait on a sketchy syncing schedule. Main integrations include Stripe, EasyPost, Mailgun, TaxJar, S3

Buck Mason designs updated, modern American classics for daily wear. Founded in 2013 by Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen, who were neighbors in Venice, California, they initially set up shop in a 350 square foot garage off Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Using old school manufacturing techniques combined with modern technology, they took an architectural approach to product with the goal of making fashion less complicated, building each piece to last beyond a single season. Much of their product is made in the USA, where you can often find Sasha and Erik on the factory floor.

Buck Mason focuses on E-Commerce, Retail, Fashion, and Men. Their company has offices in Los Angeles. They have a mid-size team that's between employees. To date, Buck Mason has raised $4M of funding; their latest round was closed on January 2017.
