    Overview:


    Manage and deliver complex programs of work consisting of multiple projects led by project managers and business analysts in support of major business transformation initiatives.


    Partner with leadership to improve project, program, and portfolio management capabilities realized by mentoring project managers and business analysts and driving standardization around delivery methodologies in a Project Management Office (PMO).


    Responsibilities:
    Manage and ensure the execution of Enterprise and/or Strategic project deliverables:
    Requirements - Identify project alternatives and potential tradeoffs in release timing or scope to meet project objectives.
    Schedules - Obtain estimates and compare to available capacity to build and communicate detailed project schedules.
    Execution - Notify team members of their deliverables and due dates. Track project progress against plans via project scheduling software.
    Communication - Communicate to senior management and down on the status and issues of programs/projects.

    Hold regular status meetings, document and communicate project progress.


    Proactively communicate information needed by team members to complete their tasks and with stakeholders that play a role in the project.

    Change Control - Manage change requests and modifications to the project plan.
    Quality - Assure deliverables are reviewed and quality is achieved as planned.
    Lessons Learned - Maintain project documentation and conduct lessons learned meetings for all projects.


    Develop strategic project plan including timelines, resource management plans, and drives delivery to attain business outcomes according to identified cost, schedule and specification baselines.

    Act as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent.

    Provide back-up support to Manager.
    Mentor and guide project managers. Provide the first point of escalation and problem resolution for Project Managers for risks, issues and barriers.

    Assure articulation and realization of business benefits including quantitative and qualitative measures of value.

    Motivate Senior Management to take the necessary actions based on the status of issues and/or projects.
    Manage the creation of multiple interdependent complex project plans for company initiatives and strategic projects. Including communication to executive leaders
    Ensure programs/projects meet business needs and that the enterprise understands the value, scope, and timeline of programs/projects.

    Ensure programs/projects align with the organizations objectives and initiatives.
    Model excellence in the creation of and management of Total Cost of Ownership, Capital Expenditure Request and Budgets.


    Qualifications:
    Excellent communication, professional writing and presentation skills
    Superior leadership, management skills and seen as a role model across the organization
    Advanced knowledge of program or project management methodology and techniques
    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment but remain appropriately detailed-oriented
    Demonstrated customer service and organizational skill
    Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and follow-through skills

    Work Setting:


    Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.

    Requires visual acuity to read a variety of correspondence, reports and forms, and to prepare and analyze data in an accurate, neat and thorough manner.


    Educational Requirements:
    Project Management Institute (PMI) certification required
    7-10 years minimum relevant business experience
    Experience or knowledge of insurance industry
    Associate/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required:
    Advanced level of PC skills including proficiency in MS Project
    Certifications & Licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):

    Project Management Institute (PMI) certification required
    LOMA designations or completed courses

    Position Demands:
    Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects
    Travel to home office, vendor sites or conference locations as the job needs arise. This might required overnight stays and should only be about 5% of the time.
