School Registered Nurse (RN)

We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a full-time school nurse near the Redford area. This role involves providing healthcare support to students, with a focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of a student who experiences seizures. The successful candidate will accompany the student on the school bus in the morning, providing assistance and monitoring throughout the school day, and accompany the student home in the afternoon. This is a vital role in our school community, where the health and safety of our students are of paramount importance.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Nursing
• Must have Michigan RN/Compact License
• Must be CPR and BLS certified
• Previous experience in pediatrics or schools preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Accompanying the student on the school bus in the morning to ensure safe transportation to school.
• Providing medical assistance and monitoring student, including administering medications and treatments as needed.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation of interventions and observations.
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to create a supportive and inclusive environment for the student.
• Monitor student for seizure activity and provide timely administration of anti-seizure medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring a safe environment during potential seizure episodes.
