- Install, operate, and maintain Tactical VSAT (SNAP, ISA, and Micro VSAT)
- Install, operate, and maintain the tactical SATCOM radio.
- Configure TDMA network for Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN).
- Install, operate and maintain line of sight systems.
- Configure and integrate COMSEC equipment (e.g., KG -175D, KG-175 Classic, KG-250X and KG-175E) into all tactical SATCOM systems.
- Manage and maintain telecommunication installation supplies.
- Maintain daily on-hand inventories.
- Provide training to military, civilian, and contractor personnel on tactical SATCOM equipment when required.
- Configure FDMA network modems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot using any Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) required over and above the Built-In-Test (BIT) capability of the supported equipment.
- Manage and maintain telecommunication installation supplies.
- Maintain daily on-hand inventories.
- Operate satellite radios and maintain those systems.
- Operate and maintain Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) modems (iDirect, Linkway, Datum, Comtech, etc.).
- Operate/maintain TDMA modem hubs, depending on terminal requirement.
- Provide knowledge of tactical and commercial satellite communication equipment.
- Provide technical documentation skills related to SAR, GAR, TSR and ASI requests.
- Have in-depth knowledge of operating Satellite Modems, Redundancy Switch, associated cables, and interconnects; Up Converters, Redundancy Switch; Down Converters, High Power Amplifiers (HPAs), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Low Noise Block (LNB); Waveguide (rigid, flex, and elliptical) joints and connections; Intermediate Frequency (IF) cable and connections; Antenna, Antenna motors, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Antenna Control Unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects; Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Units; Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS); Generator (if applicable).
- Have in-depth knowledge of operating/maintaining antenna controllers, power amplifiers (HPA/SSPA), up and down converters (LNA/LNB/BUC/BDC), Fiber Optic/Coax/Ethernet Cable, FDMA/TDMA modems (satellite modems).
- Ability to troubleshoot a VSAT Satellite terminal down to the lowest replaceable unit to include knowledge of RF signal flow.
- Ability to manipulate a provided baseline router configuration within a given network to establish connectivity with the distant end to provide services to the end user.
- Knowledge of X, Ka, and Ku satellite bands.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP accelerators, Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, RIP), and Switching fundamentals in conjunction with a SATCOM network.
- Experience in procedures for accessing commercial and military satellites.
- Ability to coordinate and execute operational requirements with minimal oversight.
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
- Must possess interpersonal skills required to communicate with the customer and other team members effectively and tactfully.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with diverse audiences, internally and externally to foster strong teamwork.

- Knowledge in these areas is considered a plus: Routing, Switching, VOIP, and QoS. Understanding, configuration and troubleshooting ability of DMVPN Architecture, Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, RIP), Switching fundamentals (VLANS, VTP, Port Security, Spanning Tree), Cisco Encryption Concepts within a DMVPN Architecture, and an understanding of TCP Acceleration over Satellite concepts.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Comtech is looking for qualified candidates who have exceptional knowledge of RF SATCOM technologies. Candidate must be capable of providing maintenance, operation, and support for the day-to-day end users of tactical and fixed satellite systems as directed. Previous work experience should include working with military or commercial RF SATCOM systems. Candidate will be required to be the Subject Matter Expert on all pieces of equipment that is being trained and/or supported. This position is based in Buford, GA but the candidate is required to travel to deployed unit locations up to 100% of their time to ensure project success. Candidate will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.
