- Preparing and sterilizing the operating rooms, as well as the necessary equipment and instruments, prior to any surgical procedure.
- You will also be charged with preparing the patients for surgery and help provide a great patient experience overall.

- Call based on department needs but usually: 4 weeknights per pay period from
- Every other weekend from Friday 1500 to Monday 0630, Holidays covered by call as needed;
- Minimum of 3 years surgical tech experience needed, must be competent to first scrub open heart procedures. TAVR experience preferred;
- Will float to three other hospitals.
- Preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries.
- Sterilizing equipment and instruments.
- Stocking adequate supplies for surgery.
- Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
- Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.
- Tracking surgical supplies.
- Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.
- Working well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team.
- Helping provide great patient care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Completion of a fully accredited surgical tech program
- Minimum three years as an Certified Surgical Technician
- Cardiac and TAVR surgery experience required
- COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
