    JOB DESCRIPTION
    • Preparing and sterilizing the operating rooms, as well as the necessary equipment and instruments, prior to any surgical procedure.
    • You will also be charged with preparing the patients for surgery and help provide a great patient experience overall.
    • BLS, Certified ST;
    • Hours ;
    • Call based on department needs but usually: 4 weeknights per pay period from
    • Every other weekend from Friday 1500 to Monday 0630, Holidays covered by call as needed;
    • Minimum of 3 years surgical tech experience needed, must be competent to first scrub open heart procedures. TAVR experience preferred;
    • Will float to three other hospitals.

    Roles & Responsibilities
    • Preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries.
    • Sterilizing equipment and instruments.
    • Stocking adequate supplies for surgery.
    • Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
    • Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.
    • Tracking surgical supplies.
    • Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.
    • Working well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team.
    • Helping provide great patient care.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification
    • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
    • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
    • The ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Strong technical skills.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Passionate about patient care
    • Completion of a fully accredited surgical tech program
    • Minimum three years as an Certified Surgical Technician
    • Cardiac and TAVR surgery experience required
    Requirements:
