    The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Senior Director, Total Rewards for our Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).

    Starting base salary = $180,000 - $225,000 (commensurate with related experience).

    The Senior Director, Total Rewards is responsible for the strategy, operations and budget for the AHA total rewards program, building on and evolving the associations total rewards philosophy and programs across benefits, compensation and well-being:
    * Responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of all benefit and total rewards programs, providing strategic oversight, direction and leadership. Ensure all total rewards programs align to association values and support an optimal employment experience. Total rewards programs include both base and incentive compensation, health and welfare insurance plans, wellness and employee assistance plans, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off/leave of absence.
    * Responsible for ensuring effective and efficient operation of total rewards programs, including functions handled in-house as well as in coordination with third-party
    administrators.
    * Lead the annual benefits and compensation budgetary, renewal and planning processes, ensuring that significant risks and opportunities are identified, and that program expense is accurately forecasted based on best available information.
    * Oversee compensation planning and budgeting process including recommending budgets, managing incentive pool allocation, developing manager planning tools, and communicating with key stakeholders during the planning process. Track and analyze throughout the year, reporting results. Also responsible for the execution of annual increase and incentive cycles, and ongoing evaluation of compensation changes, including new employees.
    * Responsible for managing the relationship with the AHAs benefit broker, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators, and the ongoing evaluation of the partnerships. Manage benefit and compensation related administrative and electronic integrations, providing subject matter expert support for implementation, and ensuring ongoing evaluation for success and accuracy.
    * Oversee HRIS team. Ensure effective and efficient collaboration with payroll team. Direct and manage plans and mechanisms for the dissemination of HR reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytics. Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of periodic
    reports and regulatory reporting while adhering to data privacy and legal guidelines.
    * Provide ongoing support to the Chief People Officer and Benefits Committee of the AHA related to the AHAs fiduciary and compliance responsibilities for all benefit plans, to include non-discrimination testing and plan audits.
    * Develop and build influential relationships with key stakeholders so that strategies reflect the needs of the many business units at the association.
    * Continue to align total reward programs with diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, including a focus on evolving approach to pay equity and inclusive benefit design.
    * Develop and enhance the messaging that will help the workforce understand and utilize their total rewards, including the dissemination of educational information.
    * Establish and measure key compensation and benefit program metrics to understand the effectiveness of the total rewards strategy.

    Work Experience
    10 years: * Experience overseeing health & welfare plans and total rewards programs, incl retirement plans and comp.

    * Proven track record of creating, implementing and administering innovative reward strategies/programs.

    * Knowledge of tax, accting, legal, other regulatory and governance considerations re health/welfare plans, ensuring total regulatory compliance.

    * Preferred Certification(s):

    SHRM Cert Prof / Cert Comp Prof / Sr Prof in HR / Cert Benefits Prof / Cert Employee
