- Draft settlement memos and agreements
- Court appearances before federal and local magistrate judges.
- Negotiate with attorneys via email and over the phone.
- Draft settlement memos, answers, and briefs.
- Collaborative, strategize and share knowledge with colleagues handling similar cases.
- Work on pending cases in Federal and State courts in matters involving administrative law, regulatory litigation, Article 78 defense litigation, vital records.
- Excellent research and writing skills with experience in motion practice (motion to dismiss/opposition to class certification/and/or summary judgment).
- Discovery including taking and defending depositions, document discovery etc.
- Actively licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of New York with 1-2 years of general litigation experience.
- Prior settlement negotiation experience.
- Recent substantive litigation experience.
- Experience attending hearings.
- Candidates must have strong analytic, research, writing, computer, and communication skills.
