    Description

    **Mechanic / Driver**

    Production North Charleston, South Carolina Minimum Experience **Experienced** Compensation **$55,000 per year** Job Summary

    Keep all equipment ready to perform and transported to the appropriate site.

    This includes maintaining, repairing, refueling, cleaning, and transporting equipment and trucks, as well as picking up and delivering materials and job supplies such as diesel, gas, propane, traffic control, etc.

    Candidates should have proven skills in all areas of mechanics including:

    Electrical

    Hydraulic

    Diesel

    Gas engines

    Small engines

    Welding

    Fabricating

    Sourcing parts and supplies

    Salary and benefits

    $55,000/year

    2 weeks paid time off

    1 week paid time off during the week of Christmas and New Years

    Hours:

    Mechanic will be required to work 50 hours per week. This will be from 7 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday. When all mechanic and transport duties are complete, the mechanic will assist the crew with their job duties to complete projects on time and on budget. These duties will likely include operating equipment like rollers and skid steers as well as light duty labor.

    Upcoming tasks

    Purchase and install hazard/beacon lights on two trucks.

    Add secondary battery to two trucks

    Add tool racks to two trucks. Racks should hold, 2 shovels, 2 lutes, 1 broom, 1 pick axe, 1 sledge hammer, and 1 garden rake

    Add cone holders to 3 trailers.

    Add lockable box to hold chains and binders on paver trailer

    Repair hydraulic leak on paver

    Attach new brush tank to sealcoating trailer.

    Fix water system on rd12 roller

    Procure backup filters for all equipment and establish system to keep back up supplies stocked

    Continuous tasks

    Keep equipment fueled, cleaned, and greased. Other employees will assist with this, but the mechanic will check these daily.

    Check trucks and trailers to ensure road worthiness every day.

    Refill propane tanks as needed. Likely every other day.

    Transport equipment, materials, and supplies to job sites as needed.
