    The Steel City Pizza Company Assistant Manager will be responsible for day-to-day restaurant operations, supporting the development and maintenance of a strong team, sales building, budgeting, cost control, accountability, and maintaining a positive company culture.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop a diverse team of employees.
    • Participate in interviewing and scheduling of staff.
    • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.
    • Conduct performance reviews that are timely and constructive.
    • Recognize and reward great performance.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service.
    • In partnership with Human Resources, handle discipline and counseling of employees.
    • Train staff on proper safety procedures and maintain documentation for health inspections.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Support day-to-day operations to ensure the smooth functioning of the restaurant.
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various areas, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and customer service.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both employees and guests.
    • Monitor inventory levels, track food costs, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
    • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and quality control.
    • Maintain a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service and ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Handle customer feedback, complaints, and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
    • Regularly interact with guests, build relationships, and address their needs and concerns.
    • Maintain SCP processes to enhance the overall dining experience and promote repeat business.
    • With support from the General Manager, understand financial performance, review financial statements, and support strategies to improve profitability.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and sanitation standards.
    • Local travel to HQ office and any restaurant location as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    • 2+ years of experience as a shift leader, trainer, or assistant manager in the hospitality industry.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Successful completion of corporate training program required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Food Handling ServSafe Certification (not required -will provide if the candidate is qualified otherwise)
    • TiPS Alcohol Service Certification (not required - will provide if the candidate is qualified otherwise)
    • A.S./B.S. in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or another relevant field.

    Physical demands:

    • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
    • Prolonged periods sitting and working at a computer.
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, or twisting.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
