    Job Summary:

    Seeking a passionate Supplier Quality Engineer to champion quality excellence in our electrical and electronic products. You'll ensure the integrity of electronic components and finished products by collaborating with suppliers and enforcing stringent quality standards. Your focus will be on achieving "zero defects" through continuous improvement initiatives and driving supplier accountability.

    Job Duties:

    • Provide comprehensive quality support to production operations, safeguarding the integrity of electronic components (PCBs) and ensuring purchased products meet rigorous engineering specifications.
    • Leverage your expertise in electronic components and schematics to analyze supplier capabilities and identify potential quality risks.
    • Lead quality improvement efforts internally and within the supplier base, fostering cross-functional collaboration to optimize processes and resolve quality issues.
    • Manage the Product Part Approval Process (PPAP), both internally and at supplier levels, ensuring successful product launches and adherence to quality plans.
    • Partner with Procurement and Engineering to establish robust Quality Plans and PPAP requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle.
    • Oversee key supplier quality metrics, driving improvements in PPAP performance, supplier scorecards, Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs), supplier audits, and supplier SPC processes.
    • Conduct ISO 9001 audits at supplier facilities and evaluate their corrective action effectiveness. Refine supplier evaluation, scorecard, and approval processes, driving continuous improvement through corrective actions, off-sourcing strategies, and ongoing optimization.
    • Deliver supplier quality training to ensure alignment with our and customer-specific quality expectations.
    • Leverage statistical analysis techniques and problem-solving skills to optimize process capability on critical electronic component characteristics at the supplier level.
    • Proactively engage with suppliers to minimize ongoing quality and performance issues.
    • Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions, ensuring they comply with established quality requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Material Science Engineering (or equivalent experience).
    • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in quality or supply quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably with a focus on electronics.
    • Experience in the electronics assembly, electrical equipment, or semiconductor manufacturing industry is a plus.
    • Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze electronic component schematics.
    • Proficiency in using ERP software systems.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience with FMEA, Control Plans, statistical process control (SPC), inspection equipment and techniques, root cause and failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine and assembly processes, problem solving, team facilitation, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
    • ASQ Certification (Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Lean) is a plus.
    • Strong understanding of PPAP processes and tools.
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or IATF 16949 quality standards.
    • Ability to travel 10-25% annually (Canada and potentially international), as needed. Limited international travel may require obtaining a visa or passport.
