- Lead and coordinate the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Perform detailed tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives and ensure optimal corporate income tax positions for the organization.
- Prepare and review complex corporate income tax provisions and related disclosures for financial reporting purposes in accordance with ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109).
- Assist in corporate income tax audits and inquiries by tax authorities, including gathering necessary documentation and providing support during examinations.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in corporate income tax laws and regulations affecting the organization, and communicate implications to management.
- Provide guidance and support to junior tax staff, including reviewing their work and providing training as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, finance, and legal, to ensure alignment on corporate income tax-related matters and facilitate efficient processes.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate income tax compliance and reporting, preferably in a public accounting firm or large corporate tax department.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local corporate income tax laws and regulations, including experience with complex tax issues.
- Proficiency in tax software and financial reporting systems (e.g., Onesource, Corptax, SAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to specific corporate tax situations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate corporate income tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and a high level of integrity.
