    $140,00-170,000

    The Director of Operations is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the overall performance of the warehouse/distribution center to ensure that business operations are executed efficiently and effectively, accomplish the goals/objectives/operational metrics, and achieve excellent customer service. The Director of Operations will have full responsibility and accountability in managing P&L, achieve cost-efficient labor management, and lead cross-functional and multi-level teams to drive the business. In addition, the Director of Operations will be responsible in establishing and executing warehouse performance objectives, strategic planning, process improvement, employee relations, and present logical and economically beneficial solutions on business issues.

    Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical action plans; create and facilitate meeting agendas; and identify, implement and monitor key business metrics to drive effective, low cost execution of results, and achieve customer requirements.
  • Respond to an ever-changing and wide-variety of business requirements, from simple and specific tactical execution to emergent and broad scope strategic challenges which require immediate and appropriate decisions and actions.
  • Manage strategic, continuous improvement processes and cross-functional projects, including the measurement of progress and business impact.
  • Provide leadership through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Manage P&L. Direct activities to adhere to budget requirements and work toward achieving the goals and objectives to meet business profitability and growth.
  • Develop and manage a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters. Assure that the account achieve predetermined profit standards.
  • Work in collaboration with Human Resources in resolving employee relations issues and creating HR programs.
  • Establish excellent customer relations and ensure that the account receive the highest level of support and service.
  • Establish excellent customer relations and respond to customer requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Establish a safe work environment and ensure compliance with company safety standards and Cal-OSHA/OSHA regulations. Manage programs for maintaining company standards of housekeeping, maintenance, security, and safety of equipment and facility in a manner that assures their most efficient operation.
  • Hold leadership team accountable in accomplishing the established goals and objectives, including administering performance evaluations and disciplinary processes to ensure a productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or similar; Masters Degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years' demonstrated work history in a large, fast-paced distribution center with in-depth knowledge of warehousing and supply chain principles and processes.
  • Must have proven effective leadership experience in managing mid-level managers and non-exempt employees.
  • Experience working in Big Box retail, automated warehouse facility, 3PL industry.
  • Knowledge of warehousing management systems, preferably Synapse.
  • Knowledge of retail distribution and compliance.
