- Partner directly with radiologists, reviewing various ultrasound exams sent from covered facilities and incorporating these findings into reports for radiologist review. Communication with performing sonographers and ordering physicians may be required, when necessary.
- Manage a work list of patient orders and distribute orders to appropriate radiologists based on the doctors' areas of specific expertise.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to performing technologists as needed.
- Work closely with other ultrasound extenders to achieve common goals of having all orders read by radiologist within required turn-around time.
- May review the work of newer employees; train new personnel.

The primary role of this position is to assist physicians' with increasing quality of care, efficiency and productivity by accurately incorporating diagnostic ultrasound measurements and findings into reports for final review and interpretation by the radiologist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
High school diploma or GED, and Associates and/or Bachelor's degree in specialized Sciences or Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited AMA approved school.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrate excellent working knowledge in all spectrums of Diagnostic Ultrasounds, including General, OB/GYN, and Vascular and Pediatric ultrasound.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.
Possess a detailed understanding of ultrasound procedures, color and spectral based Doppler examinations, abdominal and vascular studies and OB/GYN procedures as required.
Must be able to learn new computer software quickly.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Requires high attention to detail with excellent patient care and customer service skills.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and medical staff.
