    Types of procedures required:
    Pulmonary-Lung scans Musculoskeletal- whole-body, 3 phase,2 phase, SPECT Cardiovascular-Myocardial perfusion, gated SPECT, Muga, Amyloid Endocrine- Parathyroid imaging, I-123 Thyroid Uptake and Scan, I-123 or I-131 Wholebody scan for thyroid metastases, Oncology-MIBG Scan Infection- WBC imaging Genitourinary-Mag 3 Renogram with and without Lasix Gastrointestinal-Gastric emptying,Gastrointestinal bleeding, Hepatobiliary scan with EF, sphincter of Oddi Central Nervous System-Datscan, Brain flow/shunt Radionuclide Therapy, Thyroid Sentinal node imaging Equipment utilized in the unit/dept: Client Infinia II Hawkeye Gamma Camera and 640 Client SPECT Camera CRC-55tR, CRC 15R Capintec Dose Calibrators and Well Counter Cardinal Health Nuctrac Program Capintec Probe and Well Counter EPIC-Radiant Charting Accudose-use for injection procedures Required skills and minimum years of experience: Proficient in hospital setting In-patient and Outpatient setting, proficient with equipment listed above, fast paced environment and able to work alone (excellent protocols to following)

    Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:

    NMTCB or ARRT (N), ND State Licensure, BLS - must be AHA Shift or schedule requirements: Shifts are generally from 6:30am till 5:30 varying.

    There is always more than one technologist during weekday hours. You will be assigned to a room or hot lab as an individual. Some is available for questions. When on-call you are by yourself. Call is required every 3rd weekend and rotating weekdays between staff. Floating to over units/departments. Nuclear Medicine Technologist will rotate between both hospitals at SMCF and Broadway Nuclear Medicine Departments. We do procedures which include Out-patients, In-patients, Clinical Decision Unit, and ER. Duties include going to floors to inject patients. Rotate an 8 hour shift on each campus. If they have to float mid shift, will stay on the clock versus mileage.

    Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept:

    SMCF has one nuclear medicine scanning room, one nuclear stress lab, one hot lab ( unit doses delivered) with two technologist scheduled each day, On call after 5pm Broadway has two nuclear medicine scanning rooms, one stress lab, one hot lab (unit doses delivered) with three to four technologist scheduled each day.

    The on call person covers procedures that are added on after department closes Dress Code:
    Sanford policy, gray scrubs Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.

    The department is very busy department doing all procedures available on the market, we have scheduled Out-patients and add on In-patients happen at both SMCF and Broadway.

    Orientation is available, we have very detailed protocols with acquisition and processing spelled out for all procedures. We will have someone assigned to orientate you in both departments before starting call.
