    Overview:

    MANAGER QUALITY ASSURANCE /GOVERNANCE RISK AND CONTROL What is the opportunity? The GRC Quality Assurance Manager is a key strategic role within the Governance, Risk and Control organization. This role is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and operationalizing the quality assurance processes supporting regulatory matter remediation and evidencing. This role is also accountable for setting standards for documentation and packaging of remediation artifacts and evidence for regulatory issues. This includes performing independent and objective quality assurance evaluations of issue closure documentation during critical points along the remediation lifecycle. This dynamic and highly visible position provides opportunities for working across CNB, including significant interaction across the business, the 2LOD and Internal Audit.

    Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC)

    Be part of City National's U.S. Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) Office. This groups focus is on enhancing our risk management and regulatory compliance capabilities to ensure the bank is well-positioned for future opportunity and sustainable growth. What you will do
    • Define, implement and continuously improve an enhanced operating model for MRA closure package quality assurance reviews which meet Internal Audit and regulatory expectations
    • Lead the GRC Quality Assurance team to execute upon quality assurance reviews of MRA remediation artifacts, including but not limited to, reviewing evidence for accuracy, completeness and thoroughness prior to Internal Audit validation.
    • Responsible for developing and implementing the end-to-end process and procedures for quality assurance review of issue closure packages including regulatory deliverables as well as MRA Reporting
    • Promote effective quality assurance awareness in the respective business lines through positive and collaborative relations with business executives and structured interactions with key stakeholders to discuss critical quality assurance outputs, and provide / solicit feedback
    • Manage quality assurance and regulatory closure education and training related to regulatory submissions, including document preparation, approval and release to Internal Audit
    • Enable development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology, tools, and templates that support quality assurance and reporting activities
    • Create and memorialize detailed quality assurance documentation and review commentary
    • Contribute to the development of reporting, including Regulator updates and senior management Committee and Board reporting
    • Supports a high-performance environment by fostering an inclusive work environment, mentoring/coaching staff members, and enabling opportunities for colleagues achieve development goals
    • Engages in supervisory duties and performance management
    • Contribute to ad-hoc assignments and special projects

    Must-Have*

    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting, finance, business, social sciense or a related field
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, quality control roles, or other complimentary capacities, preferably within the financial services industry, or with a financial institutions regulator
    • Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services industry

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Knowledge of OCC rules and regulations
    • Masters' degree in business, computer science or related field is preferred.
    • Experience with operating in a highly matrixed environment.
    • Excellent communication and presentations skills
    • Demonstrated experience supporting and/or leading risk projects across multiple business lines offering a wide variety of financial services products and services
    • Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge of the financial services sector, particularly with the competitive dynamics and products in banking and risk management
    • Experience preparing and or reviewing MRA closure package submissions including Traceability Matrices and Remediation summary narratives
    Compensation Starting base salary: $157,943 - $293,299 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
