We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Poughkeepsie New York. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to various accounting functions including accounts payable and financial reporting.The role will involve maintaining accurate records and supporting month-end closing activities for affiliate companies.This job requires an Associate's degree in Accounting with up to five years of experience preferably candidates who have proven ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines effectively Strong organizational skills are needed as well as ability prioritize multiple responsibilities Excellent written communication abilities required Familiarity general accounting principles and financial statement preparation knowledge of tax processes journal entries general ledger financial reporting Experience working corporate accounting systems processes proficiency Microsoft Office tools willingness learn new systems Knowledge of relevant software technology tools also desired Responsibilities include Process invoices checks accounts payable functions ensure timely payments Record weekly journal entries interface data internal systems Review customer credit account balances collaboration store managers Prepare update monthly sales reports weekly basis Handle check deposits wire payments accuracy Examine code record staff credit card transactions Match customer payments billings document adjustments or credit applications Assist preparing monthly financial reports supporting month-end closing tasks Reconcile accounts conduct financial analysis affiliate companies Retrieve distribute mail managing miscellaneous administrative tasks
