    ** Class A Recycling Driver - Harrisburg, PA**

    **Position #:** 2325

    Organix Recycling was established in 2009 for the explicit purpose of diverting food recyclables from landfills to more environmentally sustainable options. Since then, we have become the largest collector of supermarket food recyclables in the United States, servicing more than 41 states and Puerto Rico.

    Organix, is looking for class A or B CDL driver with experience operating a front load waste recycling truck for our green waste division. The driver should have two to four years experience in operating a front load waste recycling truck like a garbage truck. The driver will be picking up yard waste, food waste and taking it to our compost facilities. Class B driver will have an opportunity to be promoted into a Class A position after obtaining the proper license in so desired.

    Job Details:

    Loading, hauling, and delivering yard waste on intra- and interstate routes with multiple stops ranging from 15-25 a day in accordance with routing determined by the Company. Please note shifts and routes are season dictated.

    Daily miles are 300 to 400 per day depending on route.

    Delivery equipment is a front load recycling truck across a regional footprint determined by management.

    Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles in accordance with DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.

    Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.

    General use of hand tools for basic repairs of company bins and equipment.

    General maintenance and overall cleanliness of truck, including, but not limited to regular truck washes, greasing all grease point.

    Utilize electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and as otherwise required

    Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation (contamination and service tickets, truck maintenance, expense reports, incident reports, etc.) and submit all documentation to the appropriate party according to Company procedure.

    Regularly communicate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless operations

    Communicate with manager, corporate office, and operations team on a regular basis for all service, equipment, customer service-related issues.

    Report all accidents and injuries immediately according to Company procedure.

    Attend and participate in regular safety calls, trainings, and/or briefings.

    Basic usage of computer and cell phone for training, communication, and expense management

    Regardless of any regularly scheduled service route assignment, drivers may at any time be scheduled to work a different assignment, including interstate routes. All drivers should have an expectation of operating in interstate commerce as needed.

    **Competency**:

    Time management and ability to maintain route consistency

    Communication and customer service skills-proficiency operating Manual and Automatic transmission vehicles

    Ability to use Electronic Logging System, such as People Net-Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus

    Basic computer and cell phone knowledge

    All drivers must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

    Ability to work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 60 hours in a 7-day week or 70 hours in an 8-day period.

    **Work environment**:

    Ability to handle unpleasant odors from food waste/farms

    Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

    **Physical demands**:

    Regularly lifting, pulling, and/or pushing up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, twisting, shoveling, and reaching overhead.

    Able to regularly pull/roll up to 300 pounds when working with totes

    **Travel**:

    Is required. Most routes are home daily; however, you could be required to stay out overnight. Expenses will be company paid.

    Qualifications:

    **Preferred education and experience:**

    Class A or B CDL License (self-certified as a Non-Excepted Interstate driver with the state of issuance)

    Clean MVR and PSP

    2 Years required license or certification

    Minimum of 2 years full-time verifiable experience
