    Description of Work

    Under the supervision of the Associate Director, this position is responsible for providing personalized academic support and guidance for Nebraska College Preparatory Academy (NCPA) students in Omaha, as well as coordinating all multi-day summer programming for NCPA high school students at UNL.

    Position will also coordinate recruitment programs in Omaha.

    Position will meet with school counselors and prospective students; interact with community organization and agency staff; plan and implement special events and programs for recruitment/retention of first generation/low-income students; and serve as liaison between UNL, Omaha and other communities.

    This is a grant-funded position.

    Minimum Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree required. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, public speaking experience, and ability to work independently. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Experience with first generation, low-income and ethnic-minority students necessary. Must have demonstrated ability to relate to K-12 age populations. Weekend and evening hours required. Travel required. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.


    Preferred Qualifications
    Master's degree preferred. Experience providing academic and social support for high school students preferred. Knowledge of the state of Nebraska and its challenges amongst under-represented populations. Knowledge of UNL's academic programs and student life desirable.
