- Supervise divers during practices and other dive team activities. Ensure safety of all participants and staff.
- Lead daily practices.
- Train and supervise coaching staff.
- Serve as the primary communicator to the Aquatic Manager, the Assistant Coach, parents, divers, and other team coaching staff.
- Coordinate practices and team meetings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
- Assist and evaluate the Assistant Coach on time management, practice structure, and overall aptitude for coaching.
- Perform job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work safety rules, and employee handbook.
- Perform first aid technique and rescue procedures, as necessary.
- Report any irregular discipline, safety or maintenance problems to the Pool Manager.
- Prevent accidents by enforcing pool rules and maintaining discipline.
- Recognize and respond to emergencies, assist with emergency procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- A free individual outdoor pool pass to three aquatic facilities, or family pass at 50% discount
- A free annual or monthly fitness center and/or indoor aquatic center pass

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Aquatic Manger, Aquatic Supervisor
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Head Dive Coach is responsible for the administration and day to day operations of the Des Plaines Park District Dive Camp.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school graduate or G.E.D.
Experience: 21 years of age or older, preferred.
Minimum of one years' experience in coaching competitive swimming or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Strong knowledge of competitive swimming.
Certifications: Must be able to obtain a CPR and First Aid Certification.
Valid Illinois Driver's License.
