    Duties and Responsibilities:

    - Must demonstrate qualities of being a self-starter and the ability to make independent decisions when needed.
    - Responsible for managing the FNS Department in the absence of the FNS Manager and acting as the supervisor when the manager or assistant manager is unavailable.
    - Has a comprehensive understanding of regulations affecting FNS, such as patient care, sanitation, labor, fire safety, disaster, and ensures compliance.
    - Assists in maintaining a safe, secure, and sanitary FNS department, reporting any issues to the FNS Manager.
    - Exercises good judgment in conserving supplies, preventing food waste, and conserving utilities, reporting any needs to the FNS Manager.
    - Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies, ensuring quality products and proper handling techniques.
    - Reviews menus, recipes, and production sheets, preparing and serving diets accurately and attractively.
    - Follows standardized recipes and special diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities and ensuring proper appearance, flavor, and temperature.
    - Ensures timely preparation and serving of meals/snacks, checking trays for accuracy before delivery.
    - Makes menu substitutions as needed and shows initiative in food presentation.
    - Attends necessary training and maintains a clean work area.
    - Communicates effectively with staff, patients, and families.
    - Adheres to the dress code and performs other tasks as directed.
Qualifications:

- Must have a genuine interest in foodservice and working with senior care living population.
- Should have or be willing to learn, food preparation and cooking skills.
- Knowledge of therapeutic and modified consistency diets is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret recipes and follow sanitation procedures.
- Strong customer service, communication skills, and ability to follow instructions.
- Must be proficient in English and possess good mental and physical condition.
- Basic computer skills are beneficial.
- Must have leadership qualities and work cooperatively with team members.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and hold an approved Sanitation Course certification.
