    About The Job

    We are seeking a full-time, self-motivated individual with proven ecological restoration experience to join our Habitat Restoration Team. This role offers professional growth, career advancement, and expanded responsibilities based on your skills and motivations.

    Proposed salary range: $70,000 to $105,000 annually*

    *Final compensation will depend on experience, education, certifications, skills, and location.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead development of restoration planning and design documents, including Habitat Mitigation and Monitoring Plans.
    • Conduct field assessments and biological monitoring, collecting data via various sampling methodologies.
    • Prepare technical reports and conduct observations of restoration projects.
    • Lead design and planning for mitigation, revegetation, and restoration projects.
    • Interpret habitat assessments, vegetation mapping, and survey reports.
    • Manage projects, including workflow, budgeting, and coordination.
    • Draft scopes and costs for proposals and assist with permitting.
    • Coordinate with biologists, ecologists, landscape architects, and engineers.
    • Perform habitat assessments, rare plant surveys, and jurisdictional delineations.

    Minimum Requirements

    • B.A. or B.S. in Restoration Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
    • 4-10 years of habitat restoration planning and implementation experience.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to conduct strenuous fieldwork in hot weather and steep terrain, including remote locations.
    • Valid driver's license and active automobile insurance in California.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Expertise in wetlands, coastal design, rare species, restoration engineering, invasive species, or mitigation banking.
    • Ability to lead projects and business development efforts.
    • Experience with resource agency coordination and local ecology knowledge.
    • Fluency in restoration concepts, ecological processes, and environmental policies.

    Physical Requirements

    This role involves office work and occasional outdoor site visits, which may include noise, uneven surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles. Physical demands include working on a computer, attending meetings, and visual acuity for various tasks. Reasonable accommodations are available.
