    The City of Pacific, WA is seeking a Finance Director for this vibrant community of 7,270 located 30 miles south of Seattle amid the rolling hills of the White River Valley on the King/Pierce County line.     Incorporated in 1909, the City of Pacific operates under a Mayor-Council form of government with a staff of 42 FTEs and a 2024 projected revenue of $32 million and $22.6 in expenditures. Departments include Clerk/Personnel, Community Development, Finance, Parks and Recreation, Police, and Public Works.

    THE FINANCE DIRECTOR

    Reporting to the Mayor, the Finance Director supervises the activities of the Finance Department to meet stated goals within budgeted resources. Departmental activities include annual budget preparation, payroll, vendor payments, cash collections, utility billing, meter reading, and financial monitoring and reporting for all departments. The Department operates with a 2023 budget of $490,000 and a staff of six.

Located between Seattle and Tacoma on the King/Pierce County line, the City of Pacific is looking for an individual to work collaboratively with the newly elected Mayor to establish strong financial policies and procedures, develop a budget and strategic financial plan that aligns City resources with Council and organizational goals, and lead the professional and dedicated finance department staff. In addition to providing a full array of General Fund services, the City operates water, sewer and stormwater utilities. The new Finance Director will report to the Mayor and serve as a key member of the City's Senior Leadership Team.
