    At CoreCivic,our mental health teams make lasting changes in the lives ofoffenders, as we set the standards of care in the industry.

    In our organization,these professionals are placed in the positionof Mental Health Coordinator to plan andprovide clinical mental health services of a non-medical nature inthe facility.

    Thesuccessful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the followingfunctions at a pace and level of performance consistent with theactual job performance requirements.

  • Conducts mental health screenings andassessments based on a review of available records and clinicalinterviews with inmates.
    • Provides treatment to inmates by developing,implementing and modifying individual treatment plans based on anevaluation of needs and level offunctioning.

  • Documents treatment andevaluation activities in the health care record for each personseen.
  • Maintains strictconfidentiality of sensitive materials and information at alltimes.
  • Demonstrates a thoroughknowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by wayof treatments and activities used for individuals incaseload.
  • Provides appropriatemental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions toaddress the needs ofinmates.

    • Qualifications:

    • Graduate from anaccredited college or university with a Master's degree in SocialWork, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or a degree in a relatedclinical area.
    • Five (5) years of clinical experience whichincludes two (2) years in a comparable job positionrequired.
    • Must possess appropriate LPC, LMFT or LCSW certificationor licensing in the state where practice occurs.
    • A valid driver's license is preferred unless required bycontract or applicable statute.
      • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21years of age.
