We are seeking a talented engineering student interested in Guidance, Navigation & Tracking to spend the summer in an internship supporting the continued enhancement of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) interceptor missile and ground system. The PAC-3 family of missiles are the only combat proven Hit-to-Kill interceptors that defend against incoming threats, including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft through direct body-to-body contact delivering exponentially more kinetic energy on the target than can be achieved with blast-fragmentation kill mechanisms. Click to learn more about the PAC-3 MSE This role will require onsite support full-time at Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control headquarters in Grand Prairie, TX working a 4/10 Flex schedule. This position requires a current DoD Secret clearance, therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.

    What You'll Do:


    • Support the integration, test, verification and validation of the system and various subsystems, including ground system fire control algorithms, guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms and actual Operational Flight Program code with C++ models of weapons, sensors, ground systems and environments through the 6-Degree of Freedom (6-DOF) Integrated Flight Simulations (IFS), Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL) Lab and actual flight tests


    • Analyze flight test data and assess performance


    • Support system performance assessments and trade studies

    Basic Qualifications:


    • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Aerospace Engineering


    • Must be US Citizen


    • Willingness to work onsite in a classified lab environment

    Desired Skills:


    • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody and requirements verification


    • Strong technical writing


    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
