    $50/hr on W2 ($100K + Benefits)

    Description:
    Client is seeking a Network Planning Engineer that will provide Tier 2 network operations support for the DCNS Operations & Control Center

    The individual will be part of a 24x7/365 network control environment, sharing on-call responsibilities with the other Tier 2 engineers.

    The ideal candidate will be required to perform the following functions:


    • Will be the escalation point for Tier 1.
    • Provide technical guidance and training to Tier 1 operators.
    • Local and wide area network deployment, monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting on an enterprise level.
    • Configure and manage enterprise network infrastructure.
    • Configure and manage network monitoring tools (e.g
    CA Spectrum, InfoBlox, Remedy).


    • Perform root cause analyses to determine plans of action for restoring customer's services.
    • Provide technical guidance, training and escalation support to Tier 1 operators.
    • Assist with Tier 3 projects including deployment of site upgrades.
    • Interface with field technicians, vendors and customers on equipment and site activations/moves.
    • Work with management to determine network trends and recommend future fixes/enhancements.
    • Create and update network documentation that includes: diagrams, reports and inventory.
    • Provide on-call support for NOC escalations after hours and during weekends.
    • Lead various network projects/implementation efforts.
    • This position is part of an onsite 24x7x365 NOCC environment where working off hour shifts is an essential function of the position as required by business needs
    Workday schedule flexibility is required
    This position is not eligible for remote work due to secure network access requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Network Engineering or equivalent education in a related discipline or 5+ years of experience in a network engineering environment.
    • Familiarity with Cisco IOS, Multicast, HSRP and OSI layers 1 – 4 (e.g
    Ethernet, TCP/IP, Optical, TDM, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP).


    • Experience working with Long Term Evolution (LTE), VPN, and DMVPN technologies.
    • Experience working with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Network Management System (NMS) applications used to monitor networked devices.
    • Task management experience.
    • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills.
    • Willingness to periodically travel.
    • CCNA or CCNP certification.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Knowledge of the DCNS program.
    • Experience performing Splunk data analysis.
    • Experience developing Splunk queries.
    • Experience developing Cisco eem applets.
    • Ability to write scripts via powershell, python, etc.
    • Experience with RF communications.
