    Although agriculture has changed a lot since 1983 when Prestage Farms was founded by Bill & Marsha Prestage, we still operate our business based on the family values instilled over 40 years ago.

    What We Are Looking For

    Prestage Farms is seeking a proactive and customer-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team.

    The IT Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing IT issues, playing a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our IT infrastructure and ensuring user satisfaction across all levels of the organization.

    Part-Time, Full-Time, and Intern applicants are encouraged to apply. All will be considered based upon qualifications.

    Requirements

    Responsibilities

    Operational IT Support

    Provide timely and effective support for day to day IT related business problems, including but not limited to hardware, software, network, and other system related issues

    User Support

    Act as the primary contact for all IT support tickets submitted by employees

    Asses, prioritize, and resolve issues directly or escalate to the appropriate technical teams when necessary

    Ticket Management

    Manage the IT support ticketing system, ensuring that all requests are accurately logged, prioritized according to their urgency and impact on business operations, and resolved in a timely manner

    Issue Diagnosis and Resolution

    Troubleshoot and diagnose IT issues, employing a systematic approach to problem-solving

    Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement effective solutions

    Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

    Maintain comprehensive documentation of all IT issues, actions taken, and resolutions

    Contribute to the IT knowledge base by creating user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting procedures to assist in resolving future issues more efficiently

    Collaboration

    Work closely with various departments to understand their IT needs, providing solutions that support and enhance business processes

    Qualifications

    High School or GED required, but some college education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred

    Relevant technical certifications and training are highly regarded

    Proven experience in an IT support role with a strong understanding of IT operations, systems, and technologies

    Familiarity with desktop and server operating systems, networking, and common office software

    Experience with IT ticketing systems and an understanding of ITIL principles is a plus

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in an easily understandable manner

    A strong focus on customer service, with a patient and friendly approach to support and training users

    Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills as required by the evolving IT landscape
