    As a Financial Fund Accountant specializing in the Upstream Oil and Gas sector, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate fund reporting and maintaining compliance with industry-specific regulations. Your contributions will directly impact the organization's financial integrity and strategic decision-making processes. You will be part of a dynamic team that collaborates with senior management, auditors, and cross-functional departments. Your attention to detail, expertise in financial reporting, and leadership skills will be essential to excel in this role.

    Primary Duties:

    • Conduct a meticulous review of financial statements, variance analyses, and related schedules as part of the monthly financial reporting package. Lead interactive monthly and quarterly financial review sessions with senior management to provide insights into the financial performance.
    • Facilitate seamless coordination with independent auditors, supporting both quarterly reviews and the annual audit process. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth audit trail and addressing any audit-related inquiries.
    • Thoroughly review monthly journal entries encompassing complex financial transactions such as derivatives, leases, share-based compensation, debt, and payroll. Your proficiency will maintain accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
    • Oversee the review process of monthly account reconciliations to ensure the precision of financial data and timely identification of discrepancies.
    • Scrutinize quarterly workpapers, including the cash flow statement and earnings per share calculations, contributing to the accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Draft and meticulously review memos related to technical accounting matters, as required. Your ability to communicate complex accounting concepts will be crucial in addressing accounting challenges effectively.
    • Provide vital support in the annual G&A budget process, leveraging your financial expertise to assist in budget formulation and analysis.
    • Undertake management of special projects as they arise, applying your advanced financial knowledge to drive successful project outcomes.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, demonstrating your strong academic foundation in financial principles.
    • Accumulate a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial accounting roles, showcasing your extensive expertise in the field.
    • Hold a CPA certification, underscoring your commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence.
    • Demonstrate a background in public accounting and/or the oil and gas industry, highlighting your familiarity with industry-specific accounting practices and regulations.
    • Showcase prior experience in a supervisory capacity, indicating your ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
    • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting, including hands-on experience with the external audit process.
    • Display exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey complex financial information.
    • Proficiency in Excel and Excalibur is a must, as you will leverage these tools to analyze data and generate insights.
    • Proven track record of leadership and coaching, facilitating the growth and development of team members.
    • Possess excellent organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to meet deadlines even in a fast-paced environment.
    • Capable of engaging with senior management and executives, presenting financial insights with clarity and confidence.

    Prior experience in upstream oil and gas accounting is highly advantageous, indicating your familiarity with industry-specific nuances.
