    Electrical Controls Engineer

    Cleveland, OH

    The Electrical Design and Controls Engineer will oversee the complete production of electrical equipment apparatus for industrial machinery. This involves designing, developing, and testing prior to manufacturing.


    Electrical Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
    Industrial motor control and schematic design based on UL / NFPA / NEC standards

    Specify machine controls, such as sensors, and control valves for hydraulic and pneumatic power systems

    Specify controls components for generation of equipment bill of materials

    Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power systems

    2D Drafting – AutoCAD or similar

    PLC / HMI based control systems design experience

    Rockwell Automation Control and CompactLogix platforms, FactoryTalk

    Experience with welding processes

    Travel to local (within 250 miles of Cleveland) fabricator for controls review and testing.

    Travel to end user facility for commissioning, start-up debug, training about 10%

    Work instructions and documentation creation will include the following:

    Manuals for equipment controls operation

    Work instructions for fabricators during controls build phase

    Work instructions for contractors during installation phase

    Support Field Service Department with remote access to Siemens PLC/HMI

    Ability to setup remote VPN routers to minimize travel

    Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel

    Develop and maintain project schedules, communicate project status


    Electrical Controls Engineer Requirements:
    AS Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar position

    Electrical design and testing experience

    Allen Bradley and Siemens experience preferred

    Experience with PLC/HMI based control systems design

    AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting

    Familiarity with UL/NFPA/NEC standards
