    Must-Have:

    • Must have a Laptop/computer with internet to work from home.

    Terms of Employment

    • Contract, 12 months
    • This position is considered remote, however, travel is required around the state of Maryland federal agency events.

    Schedule:

    • Hours vary weekly, minimum 20 hours/week up to 30 hours and increase during open enrollment season during November - December.
    • Weekend flexibility would be great, especially during open season, it is not a requirement.

    Geographic Focus:

    • The whole state of Maryland with a focus on Baltimore, MD area
    • Limited travel outside Hagerstown and the eastern shore
    • Candidates preferred from Baltimore City area

    Territory Coverage:

    • Federal Agencies in counties on eastern shore, western MD, Baltimore county and city, surrounding counties, Hartford, and Cecil county

    Travel:

    • Variable travel during Spring, Summer, and Winter (1-2 days of travel)
    • 3-4 days a week, during open season (Fall, November - December)
    • Expenses will be reimbursed
    • Must have reliable transportation
    • Hours include travel time

    Overview

    Our client is seeking a Member Services Representative who will be responsible for developing new business opportunities within federal agencies with a focus on post offices in the state of Maryland. This position represents the organization in acquisition strategy development, prospecting, and using consultative selling skills to grow and retain membership. The successful candidate will be professional and demonstrate flexibility within a rapidly changing and demanding environment.

    Responsibilities

    Under general guidance of a Sales Consultant, engages with key contacts at federal agencies to establish and maintain positive relations to positively impact enrollment penetration of client health, dental, and vision benefits products informing federal employees about plan choices for families.

    • Visit federal agencies, post offices, conduct 1-on-1 customer service and host events such as new employee seminars, retirement events, and wellness fairs.
    • Develop strong relationships utilizing strategic and consultative selling skills both in person and through virtual channels.
    • Presents, promotes, and communicates Open Season information regarding benefits and rates through various Open Season activities scheduled at federal agencies and military installations.
    • Maintains a high level of proficiency on benefit/policy changes for all products offered.
    • Develops and executes Open Season activities, including in-house educational sessions to communicate marketing strategies and goals.

    Training

    • Benefits training provided by the Consultants
    • On-the-job training until comfortable

    Required Skills & Experience

    2 to 3 years experience in customer service and/or events management or related experience.

    • Extremely comfortable conversing with the public via special event.
    • Healthcare experience, with some knowledgeable of medical, dental, and/or vision benefits plan.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Team-oriented and customer-focused.
    • High level people skills

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Sales experience.
    • Federal Healthcare benefit background/enrollment knowledge.
    • Access to Military bases is a plus.
