- Assess the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural aspects of patients, identifying educational needs and documenting findings accordingly. Refer to competency validation documents as needed.
- Perform a variety of respiratory therapy treatments and services, such as administering oxygen, monitoring equipment, and managing services provided, including ventilators, bronchial hygiene, spirometry testing, and more.
- Utilize therapeutic communication, interview techniques, problem-solving skills, and crisis intervention strategies during patient care procedures.
- Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, maintaining airways, providing oxygen and ventilation, and performing chest compressions as required.
- Enhance workflow efficiency by monitoring interdepartmental systems and processes, reviewing medical records, and suggesting improvements where needed.
- Hold an Associate degree from an AMA-accredited respiratory care program.
- Possess certification as a CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist/Pulmonary Function Technician.
- Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications, with additional certifications such as NRP and PALS preferred within the first year of employment.
- Be registry eligible and demonstrate a preference for acute care experience.
- Preferably hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant healthcare field and RRT certification from the NBRC.
