Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy - CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Physical Therapist (PT) License Illinois upon hire or Occupational Therapist (OT) License Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days. - EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years of clinical experience required. Preferred previous involvement in clinical research. - SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with a wide variety of outcomes measures, data collection, and statistical interpretation of clinical data. - Collaborates with clinician investigators, research scientists, and research staff.
- Screens potential study participants for suitability.
- Performs physical interventions and assessments according to research protocols.
- Acts as a subject matter expert to evaluate the clinical impact of interventions and assessments in research projects.
- Assists in the creation of external funding proposals.
- Designs appropriate care plans, adjusting based on patient response and evidence.
- Educates patients, family, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.
- Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes.
- Completes documentation following policies and procedures.
- Supervises support personnel and provides feedback.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and others involved in rehabilitation.
- Provides supervision to PTA/COTA and rehabilitation technicians.
- Communicates effectively with the medical team regarding patient progress and recommendations.

Description
Position Summary:
Carle is looking to hire a PT/OT - Clinical Research for a unique dual role. This position involves spending 50% of the time working as a clinical PT/OT in either the inpatient or outpatient rehab setting and the other 50% as an expert in PT/OT for clinical research projects. The PT/OT will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients of all ages, adapting care plans as needed. Furthermore, they will serve as a role model in providing professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students. On the clinical research side, the PT/OT will be part of a dynamic team that supports the development and expansion of rehabilitation-focused clinical research. By collaborating with clinician investigators and research scientists, the PT/OT will contribute to the performance, development, and assessment of therapy interventions and assessments for research projects related to acute and chronic neurologic conditions.
