    Description

    Title: Systems Engineer

    Duration: 6-12 month contract-to-hire

    Location: LA, or Colorado – Onsite Tuesday-Saturday/Sunday (weekends remote)

    Pay Rate: $52/hr

    Visa: USC/GC

    Compensation:

    $50/hr to $52/hr

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law Compensation.

    Qualifications:

    o Experience for mgmt/build/troubleshooting of virtualization/OS technologies, specifically VMware & Windows & Linux

    o Experience with OS/HW level monitoring and performance management

    o Working knowledge on networking protocols, routing, network topology.

    o Manage and implement automated operational tasks to improve reliability and standards.

    o Some scripting experience. Ex: Python, Ansible, Shell, PowerShell, GIT, Tower, and CI/CD methodologies

    o Familiar with agile methodologies working in JIRA based sprint structures.

    o Must work be able to work Sun-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday shift (weekend day is remote)

    Plusses:

    o Familiar with Block/File/Object storage technologies

    o Familiar with backup technologies, recovery scenarios, high availability designs and solutions

    o Familiar with ServiceNow or other ITSM related toolsets

    Responsibilities:

    Our client is looking for a Jr. Systems Engineer that will partner with leadership on day-to-day operations, including VM deployment, OS access tickets, OS/VM troubleshooting (Linux & Windows), ESXi configuration, SOX auditing, and performance troubleshooting. Working within an agile framework, updating tickets in Jira/SNOW, collaboration with cross-functional business leaders and partners, to provide "best in class" support for the client's local stations and global enterprise customers. The team they will be joining does the following:

    o Develop & maintain engagements with Infrastructure Engineering, MSP resources, facility support, vendors, and Application teams to provide end-to-end delivery and support of appropriate infrastructure solutions.

    o Provide level 1/2 operational support for ticket completion, incident management and problem management resolution, on-call activities
