    Description
    Cleveland-Cliffs Steel Corporation has an immediate opportunity for a Financial Analyst at our Zanesville, Ohio facility.

    Our Financial Analyst is responsible for budget development, report creation and maintenance, and overall preparation and maintenance of accurate and complete records of a general and/or cost accounting nature requiring application of a broad range of accounting techniques and practices.

    The Financial Analyst functions as a liaison between the Operations and Finance departments.

    Summary Of Responsibilities

    Prepare standard accounting reports by gathering, recording, and accumulating data.
    Interpret accounting results, recognize deviations, analyze causes, and make recommendations for improvements or corrective action.
    Collect, analyze, and report actual manufacturing costs, material, labor, etc., comparing budget costs to actual production costs.
    Develop reporting and analytics while working closely with Operations management on fiscal impact and final reporting.
    Maintain internal control and compliance requirements related to manufacturing accounting activities.
    Prepare weekly cost projections.
    Contribute to and provide support for month-end closings.
    Assist with internal/external audit requests.
    Continually improve processes and documentation.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
    Knowledge of GAAP, month end close process, and account reconciliation procedures.
    Exceptional analytical ability, detailed orientation, and commitment to accuracy.
    Initiative-taking and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, including occasional weekends if necessary.
    Willingness and ability to go into plant as needed which involves wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    2+ years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
    Oracle general ledger experience
    SAS programming experience
