    Description
    Sterile Processing Tech
    • PRNUnder the supervision of the Director of Surgery, transports, sterilizes and stores medical/surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies for patient care.
    Checks to see that appropriate charges for equipment and supplies have been made.

    Inspect, assemble and evaluate all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.

    Will be responsible for planning for the ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in the Operating Room.

    Will be responsible for assuring that all surgical instrumentation and equipment is kept in good repair; adequate surgery inventory maintained in a cost effective manner.

    Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
    Inspect instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
    Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
    Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.receiving, storing, and distributing materials and equipment.

    Maintains established inventory standard levels of supplies.responsible for the ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in the O.R.

    Responsible to assure that all surgical instrumentation and equipment is kept in good repairMaintain adequate surgery inventory in a cost effective mannerCo-ordinate all "return" items in a timely mannerCo-ordinate all "recall" items in a timely mannerThis position is responsible for the maintenance and coordination of the surgical supply system ensuring that it operates in a fiscally sound manner and manages supplies and equipment from acquisition to dispositionEducation: High School Diploma or GED is required

    Experience:
    Previous experience preferred

    Licenses/Certificates:
    Central Supply Technician Certification
