    Job Summary:
    s a Tax Manager for Real Estate Group you will work directly work with the tax staff accountants, other managers, and partners of the firm's Real Estate Services Group. The successful candidate will use his or her foundation in pass-through accounting and taxation, along with specialized skills related to tax compliance and consulting regulations. The Real Estate Tax Team has a specific focus on issues related to tax credit and tax incentive properties, including low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, New Markets and Renewable Energy credits as well as Opportunity Zones. A background on all or any of these topics is welcomed but not required. Tax Partners and Managers must provide outstanding consulting, compliance, and project management services to our real estate clients. Tax Partners and Managers must be aware of the professionalism necessary for not only effectively and efficiently addressing client needs but also for working with others and in teams.
    Major Responsibilities:
    • Plan, supervise, review and complete real estate tax work/tax returns for multiple clients in accordance with Client Service Standards.
    • Utilize his or her extensive foundation of knowledge related to partnership taxation and regulations and, as applicable, tax credit real estate properties including tax compliance and consulting.
    • Participate in and/or create practice development opportunities.
    • Identify process and performance improvement opportunities.
    • ssume responsibilities for project management of various client groups, including regular communication with clients and contacts related to tax compliance and consulting.
    • Research current tax compliance and consulting issues.
    • Work closely with and directly communicate with other real estate team members, in addition to client personnel.
    • ssist with organizing and serving as an instructor for periodic department-wide technical training.
    Development of Team Members:
    • Motivate and be respected by subordinates.
    • Demonstrate positive contributions to firm's recruitment, education, development, and retention efforts.
    • Serve as a Mentor, Coach, and/or Career Advocate (if assigned).
    • Provide Team Members with timely and candid feedback supporting the firm's performance management process.

    Required Experience/Background/Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree.
    • 9 years of pass-through taxation and compliance experience, including supervision and review experience.
    • ctive CPA certification is required.
    • Prior experience with one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
    • Experience with estate tax and high-value clients.
    • Prior experience with pass-through entity tax credits is preferred but not required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).
    • Travel may range from minimal to monthly, travel for this position will be most dependent upon office location.

    Working Conditions:
    • The typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. between January 1st and April 15th, hours are more intensive given the tax season.
