Description
University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Solid Organ Transplant team in Minneapolis, MN.
The University of Minnesota is home to one of the oldest and most successful solid-organ transplant programs in the world.
In this role, you will:
Care directly for specialty patients in the inpatient setting.
In collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary team, formulate and implement treatment plans.
Provide medical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients and families within a multidisciplinary framework on an inpatient basis.
Perform minor surgical procedures within their scope and realm of their practice agreement with their supervising physician.
Schedule:
3 x (10) hour days with a weekend rotation every 6-7 weeks.
0.75 FTE (30 hours/week).
Monday - Friday, three 10-hour shifts per week with staggered start times.
Weekend shifts are required, approximately 6-7 weekends/year and shared equally among the team. Will receive equivalent time off the following week after working a weekend. No night call.
Position Qualifications:
A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult, Adult/Gero, Acute Care, or FNP Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice.
Be certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year experience as an inpatient PA or NP in Transplant Medicine or Surgery preferred. New graduates with hospital experience will be considered.
