    Mobile Equipment Operator Trainer - Part-Time - What Will You Do?

    Responsible for executing NESL's overall training process in heavy equipment operations. Training focuses will include MSHA/OSHA compliance, alignment with industry best practices, and semi-autonomous maintenance. Will be a key contributor in NESL's strategy to develop and retain talent. Duties include:

  • Provide heavy equipment training that promotes full competency and expert operations of equipment.
  • Establish clear standards and expectations to define full competency of heavy equipment operations.
  • Develop an outcomes-based approach through mentorship and blended trainings that include classroom lessons and field experiences.
  • Provide comprehensive training to properly upskill entry-level or inexperienced operators.
  • Serve as an extension of the Heavy Equipment Trainer.
  • Advocate for and instill jobsite safety and semi-autonomous maintenance mindset among all operators.
  • Lead additional training segments including new hire, annual refreshers, and remedial training.
  • Maintain, and validate training documentation and assessments.
  • Define and articulate NESL's training value proposition in terms of workforce development, retention, and operational efficiency. This includes periodic reports and updates on the overall training program and its outcomes.
  • Assist hiring managers, supervisors, and forepersons in identifying talent, aptitude, and positive attitudes.
  • Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

  • Minimum of Five (5) years of equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Heavy Equipment Training Certifications, Theory presentation and Hands-on training experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to grow and learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in skill development and formalized training is a plus, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and meets NESL's driving standards, preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
