    Position Summary

    First Shift - Monday to Friday with some flexibility in start/end times.

    Work Location - Wheeling, IL

    • This position thrives in a high mix, low volume setting focusing on top-notch products' quality and adherence to set standards.
    • Reporting to the Quality Manager, the CMM Programmer plays a pivotal role in a team that conducts various inspections within the quality lab.
    • The CMM Programmer leads the team in inspection methods and equipment expertise.

    CMM Programmer responsibilities include:

    • Creating CMM inspection programs on 2 new Mitutoyo CMMs utilizing MCOSMOS software.
    • Performing visual and dimensional inspections and documenting inspection results for First Piece Inspection Reports, Receiving Inspection, Final Inspection, and First Article Reports.

    Key Job Functions involve:

    • Programming of Mitutoyo CMMs: Utilizing MCOSMOS software and Renishaw touch and scanning probes.
    • Receiving Inspection: Conducting receiving inspection through dimensional and visual techniques.
    • In-process Inspection: Completing first piece inspections.
    • Shop Support: Assisting shop personnel with inspection activities upon request.
    • Communication: Engaging in verbal and written communication within the company.
    • Quality Improvement: Collaborating with Destaco machinists, assemblers, and vendors to enhance product quality.
    • Cleanliness: Ensuring cleanliness in work areas.

    Requirements

    • Proficient in CMM programming for manufacturing environment and tight-tolerance machined parts.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing operations, processes, and procedures.
    • Ability to interpret drawings and understand GD&T.
    • Familiarity with measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gages, etc.
    • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Experience

    • Prior experience in CMM programming, with the opportunity for training on MCOSMOS if necessary.
    • Previous parts inspection experience.
    • Minimum of two years working in a manufacturing environment.

    Education and Certification Qualifications

    • High School Degree or higher.

    • Requires standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
    • Air-controlled work environment.
    • Protective gear such as safety glasses and steel-toe footwear mandatory.
