    Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.

    The Manufacturing Engineer with CNC experienceworks with machinery that cuts raw materials into functional items. They are responsible for interpreting blueprints, designing programs, and setting up machines to produce the components outlined in the program. They are also involved in maintaining, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure that everything is running smoothly.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Fixture design and creation.
    • Tooling selection
    • Create setup sheets and work instructions to hand off programs to operators for production.
    • Responsible for creating In Process Inspection Criteria (IPIC)
    • Interfaces with Set-up Machinists and Quality Team.
    • Partner with manager on project prioritization
    • Promote a safe work environment.
    • Maintain or improve legacy part quality standards and cycle times with process improvements in accordance with customer and company manufacturing standards, delivery commitments, internal procedures and protocols.
    Requirements
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with CNC programing lathes and/or mills
    • Experience with CNC Lathe, Mill Turn, and 3- and 5- axis milling machines.
    • Experience programming offline.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
    • Proven cycle time reduction and program optimization.
    • Ability to identify training needs, tooling recommendations, fixture design and implement best machining practices.
    • G-code familiarity.
    • Familiarity with multiple types of material; emphasis: titanium, Inconel, and other exotic alloys.
    • Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and quality standards as it applies to an aerospace and defense environment.
    • Strong ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals driven by metrics.
