    Sr. Sourcing Specialist

    SUMMARY

    This role is a key team member who leverages both technical and business skills within the procurement team to provide strategic leadership and be responsible for the development, implementation, and ownership of strategic strategies for contract manufacturing, stocking levels, and quality.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
    • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the outsourcing of products to contract manufacturers.
    • Collaborate with contract manufacturers, suppliers, engineering and quality on product manufacturability and/or other improvements.
    • Identify and implement material cost reductions through negotiations with current vendors and identify and develop new suppliers.
    • Work with the Sales and Inventory Production Control teams to satisfy custom and quick ship opportunities.
    • Maintain and update accurate costs in the ERP system.
    • Communicate cost variances monthly for financial reporting.
    • Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, forecasts, and lead times for delivery to assure adequate operating stocks.
    • Work with contract manufacturers to maintain correct inventory counts.
    • Work closely with internal and external partner Quality Departments to ensure that any potential quality issues are flagged and assessed in a timely manner and any necessary actions required to ensure ongoing supply are taken.
    • Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
    • Work with Engineering and Quality Assurance to support the first article inspection process.
    • Supplier scorecard performance metrics in place combined with periodic reviews.
    • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturers on CIP and PIP implementation.
    • Manage inventory disposition for supplier ECOs.
    • Travel to domestic suppliers, trade shows, etc. up to 15% of your time

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field desired.
    • 5+ years of purchasing and/or contract manufacturing management experience (sales, engineering, etc.) required.
    • Cross functional project management and/or commodity management experience required.
    • Experience with understanding engineering drawings and bill of materials structure.
    • Experience with metals, wood and plastics required.
    • Experience with an ERP system, Epicor experience a plus.
