    The Accountant supports Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America from a payables and accounting standpoint.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs routine accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, system processing, check disbursement, expense report processing, etc. Confers with senor staff member on issues of concern, and if necessary, escalates issues to Manager.
    • Establishes, maintains, and records, financial controls issues including expense reimbursement procedure for payments to external companies, disbursements expenses, tax payments and income.
    • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet and P&L statements and other accounting schedules and reports including documentation for auditing.
    • Adheres to and communicates accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
    • Helps interface with other related companies in the US and with corporate headquarters by supporting submission of periodic reports, managing inter-company charges and accounts, and responding to inquiries.
    • Maintains accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
    • Assists with analyses related to budgeting, forecasting, audit, tax (Federal and State provisions) and valuation.
    • Performs other departmental duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • BS Degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)
    • 3 years of experience in payments processing or general accounting
    • Understanding of Accounting principles
    • Proven analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills coupled with customer service orientation.
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • SAP experience preferred

    The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $104,000.

    Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

    This salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.

    This position is eligible to participate in our annual Short-Term Incentive (STI) program. Specific information about the plan including eligibility rules and target, will be furnished upon hire.
