Job summary
We are seeking a skilled DB2 Database Administrator to implement and administer databases within a multi-tiered environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in design, build, implementation, upgrade and optimization of DB2 databases in an AIX and z/OS environment.The ideal candidate will have experience with OEM and other database tools (Toad, Foglight), significant experience with database backup/recovery strategies,
and technical expertise on current AIX and z/OS operating systems.
The selected candidate will support DB2 monitor/maintain/upgrade the DB2 database assist application team performance tuning initiatives builds from application vendor interface business analysts developers create maintain physical data models based logical design monitor tune databases peak performance design/implement backup recovery solutions provide assistance associates resolve technical issues document implement best practices database environments establish standards controls procedures ensure data integrity security perform capacity planning projection future growth
- Bachelor's degree demonstrated equivalent competency
- Proficient administering tuning DB2 databases z/OS environment
- Proficient administering tuning DB2 AIX environment experience administering/tuning multi-partition databases preferred
